Kotoko Determined to Get Justice for Pooley

Asante Kotoko have served notice about their resolve to get justice served in the killing of their ardent supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Pooley.

In a statement, Kotoko said they will not relent from seeking justice for the father of four.

“To our cherished supporters, we assure you that whatever decision the club takes after our engagement with the Football Association will be one that forever honours the memory of our late supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, and upholds the supreme interest of Asante Kotoko We will not be swayed, and we will not rest until true justice and lasting reforms are. achieved.”

Meanwhile, it welcomed the arrest of three suspects whom it described as “masterminds”.

“We welcome the news that three of the many masterminds behind this dastardly and heinous act have been arrested, and we trust that the police will continue to pursue and bring every last perpetrator to justice.”

The Porcupines further assured of its full cooperation with the police.

Ardent Asante Kotoko fan, Frimpong Yaw Francis, popularly known as Nana Pooley, was stabbed to death following the 1-0 defeat to Nsoatreman FC.

This followed a melee that marred the game at Nana Koramansah Park at Nsoatre in the Bono Region on February 2, 2025.

He died at a hospital while receiving treatment, Kotoko confirmed in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Porcupines alongside four players have been charged for failing to control players and anti-footballing activities respectively during the game.

Kotoko have since suspended all footballing activities until further notice.
