Kotoko Advance To FA Cup Round of 16

The Asante Kotoko Sporting Club marked their seventh undefeated record in a row in the MTN FA Cup on Sunday when they visited Bibiani Goldstar at Duns Park.

Their victory made sure they advanced to the next round of the competition.

Both teams ended the first half goalless after failing at all attempts for an opener but the work was successfully done when Peter Amidu came on as a substitute and decided the game with his 57th-minute strike.

While Kotoko has advanced to the Round of 16, Goldstars are out.

In another Round of 32 games on Sunday, the Medeama Sporting Club got knocked out by Division One Club Skyy with a first half goal.

After eliminating giant Hearts of Oak in the Round of 64, Nania FC knocked out Great Olympics on a 5-4 penalties win on Sunday.

Defending Champions Dreams FC also advanced to the Round of 16 after a pipping Heart of Lions 2-0.

Second-division side Wa Power have progressed to also progressed to the next stage of the competition after beating Premier League side RTU by two goals to nil at the Malik Jabir Stadium.

Other clubs who have advanced to the Round of 16 are Karela FC, Bofoakwa Tano FC, Nsoatreman FC, Berekum Chelsea, Bechem United, Akwaboso Young Madrid, Elmina Sharks, Hohoe United, Soccer Intellectual FC and Koforidua Semper FC.
