KMA Takes ‘Samansaman’ to Bantama Sub-Metro Next Week

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced the continuation of the ‘Samansaman System’ in the Bantama Sub-Metro, with a special task force set to begin inspections from Monday, July 20, 2026.

In a statement issued on July 14, 2026, it said the system, which involves punitive action against persons who fail to tidy up their surroundings, will be enforced “unabated” in Bantama.

The move follows the successful execution of a similar exercise at Dichemso in the Manhyia South Sub-Metro.

According to the Assembly, all residents, traders, market folks, and corporate bodies found culpable of sanitation-related offences within the Bantama Sub-Metro will be arraigned before a court of law for immediate punitive action.

“The Management of the KMA is advising all and sundry to keep their surroundings as neat at all times,” the statement said.

KMA disclosed that a special task force comprising Environmental Health Officers, administrative staff, and security operatives will visit communities within the Bantama Sub-Metro starting Monday, 20th July 2026, to enforce compliance.

The Assembly is counting on the public’s full cooperation with the directive as part of efforts to improve sanitation and environmental hygiene in Kumasi.
