KMA Announces Major Clean-Up in Bantama on July 4

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced a major clean-up exercise in Bantama on Saturday, July 4, in observance of National Sanitation Day, as part of the government’s agenda to improve sanitation conditions across the nation.
According to a statement from KMA, the exercise will run from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and will cover the Abrepo Junction Electoral Area, from Bantama High Street through to Bantama Market in the Bantama-Ahenbronum Electoral Area.
To ensure massive participation, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr Frank Amoakohene, together with a team from Zoomlion Ghana Limited, will supervise the exercise at Bantama High Street and Bantama Market.
The Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi, and the Chairman of Bantama Sub-Metro and Assembly Member for Kokoso-Asubonteng Electoral Area, Hon. Francis Amoako Asante, will supervise the exercise at Abrepo Junction Electoral Area.
KMA said vehicular movement will not be permitted in the affected areas until the exercise ends, and is therefore advising the public, especially commercial vehicle operators, to take note.
Groups or organisations interested in participating should contact Hon. Bosie Amponsah Mensah, Assembly Member for Abrepo Junction Area, on 0243 711 894, and Hon. Kwabena Boateng, Assembly Member for Bantama-Ahenbronum, on 0244 938 883 for guidance and further assistance.
