Ablekuma North MP-elect to Be Sworn In Today

The Parliament of Ghana will today witness the swearing in of the Member of Parliament-elect of the Ablekuma Constituency, Ewurabena Aubynn.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 parliamentary candidate’s victory was confirmed after the rerun of the election in 19 polling stations on July 11.
She polled 34,090 votes while the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie secured 33,881 votes.
Prior to the election rerun, Ms Afriyie held a narrow lead with 32,512 votes against Ms Aubynn’s 32,464, based on results from 262 out of 281 polling stations.
However, the tide turned in favour of Ms Aubynn following the rerun.
She is the first NDC representative to win a parliamentary seat in Ablekuma North in the past 28 years.
