Hilda Baci, the Nigerian Chef Who Seeks to Break World Record

27-year-old Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has been on her feet since last Thursday with the aim of breaking chef Lata Tondon’s longest cooking hours record.

The Nigerian who owns My Food By Hilda Restaurant in Lagos has been cooking continuously for more than 90 hours.

Reports indicate that she has made more than 100 dishes within the period and initially planned to end at 4 pm today.

She started her feat at 15:00 GMT on Thursday and has been handing out the food to guests.

She has surpassed the 87 hours and 45 minutes record set by Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who chalked the achievement in 2019.

It is reported that she allows one assistant at a time, and can take a five-minute break each hour, or the equivalent over several hours.

Her adventure has attracted the interest of people from across the world with Nigerian celebrities and high-profile persons congratulating her although Guinness is yet to establish she has broken the record.

“We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record,” Guinness World Record said in tweet I relation to Hilda’s adventure.
