Asantehemaa Dɔte Yie: Solemn, Graceful, and Captivating – Watch Otumfuo’s Day 3 Arrival

Three words can be used in an attempt to describe the scene as the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, made his entrance on the third day of the burial rites for the late Queen, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
It was solemn, it was graceful, and it was captivating.
As with His Majesty’s usual entry, a sea of regalia led the procession on Wednesday noon when guests from across the country and beyond gathered at the Manhyia Palace to commiserate with Asanteman,
Otumfuo today stepped out in a “Kuntunkuni” cloth as he has for the past two days.
He holds a fly whisk decorated with cowries along certain sections.
At his appearance, the entire grounds gave a standing ovation as a sign of reverence, while the King waved in acknowledgement.
The carefully planned burial rites, which started on September 15 with a series of activities, will come to an end on September 18.
Her Majesty will be buried on the last day at Breman Baamu.
Filing past is reserved to take place sequentially among dignitaries and the general public from September 15 to 18, between 5 am and 5 pm, except for the last day, when it will end at 11 am to make way for a burial service at 3 pm.
A key point to note is the institution of the restriction on outdoor movement effective 7 pm on September 18 to make way for the burial of Her Majesty.
