Govt to Clear Salary Arrears of Teachers in Four Instalments
The Ministry of Education has announced the approval of financial clearance for the payment of salaries owed to Ghana Education Service (GES) teachers.
In a letter to Regional Directors of Education, it said that the Ministry of Finance had granted approval for payment in CAD.
The payment will cover to eligible staff of GES from 1st August 2024 to November 2025 from August 2024 to November 2025.
It noted that the accruing arrears will be paid in five instalments beginning in May.
The government intends to pay four-month salaries each in May, June, July and August.
“You are kindly requested to promptly convey this information to all Heads of Schools, to ensure that all eligible staff are duly informed accordingly.”
