GIS To Investigate Attack On Officers In Bawku

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has announced it will be investigating the shooting incident on Monday that targeted three of its officers.

In a statement confirming the report, the Service condemned the act.

“The Ghana Immigration Service condemns the dastardly attack in no uncertain terms and wishes to assure all officers and men that the Service will take necessary measures to ensure their safety.”

The Service noted that it will investigate and find the persons behind the attack that claimed one life.

The investigation, it said, will be done in collaboration with the police and other agencies.

It also said a high-powered delegation is scheduled to visit the sector command to review the security in relation to the operation of the Immigration Service in the command.

Bawku has been a critical security zone being stricken by a protracted ethnic conflict and bordering Burkina Faso where terrorism is rampant.
