Ghana is a Sports Nation – MP

The Member of parliament for the Kwadaso Municipality, Hon. Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, has said that Ghana is a sports nation. He made this statement at the sod-cutting ceremony for the commencement of the construction of a state-of-the-art artificial astro-turf at Ohwimase M/A Basic School in the Kwadaso Municipality in the Ashanti Region by Ghana Gas Company.

He stated, “Ghana is a sports nation, and it is crucial that we provide the necessary facilities to foster sports development. This modern astro-turf will not only benefit the school but also serve the entire community and its environs.”

The project, with an estimated cost of 3 million Ghana Cedis, is part of Ghana Gas Company’s commitment to providing sports infrastructure nationwide.

He added, “The field will provide the most grass-like playability, and I urge the authorities to take good care of it after construction.”

Gracing the event, Otumfuo Sekyihene, Nana Osei Tutu Agyei, expressed his appreciation and support for Hon. Prof. Kingsley Nyarko’s vision.

He said, “I commend the MP for his great vision in helping to develop Kwadaso and its environs. This astro-turf will go a long way in promoting sports and providing a platform for our talented athletes to showcase their skills.”

Speaking to the youth, Otumfuo Sekyihene advised, “Have a better plan for your future and stay away from activities that could harm your prospects. Embrace the opportunities that this astro-turf will bring and use it as a stepping stone towards success.”

He concluded by urging the community to show gratitude for the project.

“Accept and enjoy what the MP has done for the Constituency with a good heart. Let us remember his contributions and support him in the upcoming elections as a way to show our appreciation,” he emphasised.

The construction of the modern astro-turf signifies a significant step forward in promoting sports and creating opportunities for athletic growth within the Kwadaso Municipality.
