GFA Launches Talent Hunt: 40 UK-Based Ghanaian Youngsters Attend Inaugural Identification Programme

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has successfully organised its inaugural talent identification programme in the United Kingdom, with 40 players of Ghanaian descent currently playing in Category One academies taking part.

The exercise, which brought together highly promising young talents born in the UK, was held in partnership with Coach Hene Sports Club, the Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom, and Prince Lamona Consult.

The programme was specifically designed to identify and engage top Ghanaian talents abroad with the long-term goal of strengthening the future of Ghana’s national teams across various age groups.

All 40 players, who are products of top English academy systems, were put through various football drills and assessments as part of efforts to broaden the Black Stars’ talent pool and create a stronger pipeline of players eligible to represent Ghana internationally.

This initiative underscores the GFA’s commitment to scouting and developing Ghanaian talents wherever they may be, as the country continues to position itself for greater success on the continental and global stage in the coming years.

The programme is expected to serve as the foundation for more structured talent identification drives across Europe and other parts of the world as Ghana looks to build a competitive edge for future tournaments. groups.
