Fire Service Commander Urges Ghanaians to Prioritise Fire Precautions
Wikina Badomey, the Fire Service Commander of Ahafo Ano, has advised Ghanaians to diligently adhere to fire precautionary measures.
In an exclusive interview with Opemsuo’s Nana Adeamuoduro Kwabena Agyei, Mr. Badomey shed light on the importance of remaining cautious when it comes to fire incidents, as they can occur unexpectedly at any time.
“Fire outbreaks are unpredictable,” emphasised Mr. Badomey. “Therefore, it is vital for individuals to exercise vigilance and prioritise fire safety measures to promptly detect and mitigate the spread of fires.”
He stressed that fire safety education is an ongoing effort, serving as a vital tool in preventing and reducing fire outbreaks.
By equipping the public with the knowledge to handle fire-related situations, Mr. Badomey aims to create a safety-conscious society that is capable of managing fire incidents effectively.
Alarming statistics presented by Mr. Badomey revealed that human factors contribute to over 99% of fire outbreaks.
With this in mind, he strongly urged Ghanaians to take proactive measures to safeguard their lives and properties. In particular, he emphasized the necessity of installing essential fire safety equipment, including smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, and other pertinent devices. These precautions are
crucial to fortify the overall fire safety standards of residential and commercial premises.
As the Fire Service Commander, Mr. Badomey’s advisory underscores the need for Ghanaians to be mindful of fire safety precautions throughout the year.
By fostering a culture of fire prevention and readiness, the Ahafo Ano community can mitigate the occurrence of fire outbreaks and ensure the well-being of its residents.
