Eswatini King Sets Out on Ghana Trip

The King of Eswatini, His Majesty King Mswati III, has set out on a duty tour to Ghana in West Africa.

He is accompanied by Inkhosikati LaMagongo, the Eswatini Government reported on Tuesday morning in a Facebook post.

“His Majesty King Mswati III, accompanied by Inkhosikati LaMagongo, has left the country for a State Visit in the Republic of Ghana.”

The King is expected to spend four days in the country with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the King of the Asante Kingdom, as his host.

The visit which reciprocates the 2015 visit of the Asante Monarch to the Southern African country, will feature a welcoming royal banquet and a traditional durbar.

King Mswati III will also address the National House of Chiefs as well as pay visits the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

The visit is anticipated to further strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and the Kingdom of Eswatini as well as deepen the historical and cultural links between the Asante Kingdom and the southern African nation.

From Ghana, His Majesty will depart for Sevilla, Spain, for the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development.
