N/R: Police Arrest Three For Gun Smuggling
The police have apprehended three suspects for smuggling guns in Savelugu, in the Northern Region.
They were arrested through an intelligence-led operation, on May 1, 2025, from their respective hideouts, a statement by the police announced.
The suspects have been identified as Gaba Abdallah Alhassan, Alhassan Abdallah, and Alhassan Abdul Kudus.
The law enforcement officers retrieved one AK-47 rifle, one SMG, one Smith & Wesson SD40 VE pistol, one single-barrel gun, two magazines and fifteen rounds of AK-47 ammunition.
Thirteen rounds of pistol ammunition, an additional twenty-seven rounds of ammunition, and five rounds of BB cartridges were also retrieved.
“The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. They will be taken through the due process of the law to face justice,” the statement added.
