ECG Announces 6-Hour Outage in Kumasi for Emergency Maintenance

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will cut power supply to parts of Kumasi and surrounding communities on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, to undertake emergency maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.
In a notice, ECG said the planned outage will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, a 6-hour period.
The exercise is expected to cause a temporary interruption in power supply to affected areas.
Communities to be affected include Nerebehi, Adankwame, Kontomire, Asakraka, Mfensi, Atasomanso, Konkromoase, Apire, Ampatia, Darko, Trede, Ampabame, Complex, Nyankyerenease, Owabi, Bokankye, Koforidua, Ntensere, Manhyia, Abuakwa, and surrounding areas.
The ECG said the maintenance is necessary to enhance network reliability and improve service delivery to customers in the affected enclaves.
The power distributor expressed regret for the inconvenience the outage will cause and urged affected residents and businesses to plan accordingly during the period.
