Duffour Requests Postponement Of Presidential Primary

An aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearership, Dr Kwabena Duffour has raised concerns about the voter’s register housing details of delegates a few days to the election calling for postponement.

According to him, there are several discrepancies and inaccuracies in the voter’s register also known as photo album upon review.

His concerns were raised in a letter to the General Secretary of the opposition party.

“Upon review of the 220 constituencies voters register (photo album) we identified several discrepancies in the register that indicate it is both incomplete and inaccurate.”

This, he believes, will undermine the credibility and fairness of the election.

“Having an incomplete and inaccurate register is a significant issue when going into the election because it undermines the credibility and fairness of the election process.”

He, therefore, wants the election rescheduled from May 13.

Aside from that, he wants all stakeholders to hold a meeting to agree on a roadmap to guarantee the integrity of the Voter’s Register and agree on a time frame to clean the voter’s register.

Dr Duffour is among three persons vying for the flagbearer position of the party.
