Daasebre’s Death Is My Greatest Loss- Widow

Mrs Janet Dorothy Gyimah-Kessie has described the demise of Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, the late Asante Mamponghene, as the greatest loss she has ever experienced in life.
Recalling how her husband used to call her “My Pretty,” she expressed her distraught at the painful reality that he had exited the realm of the living.
In her heartfelt tribute, she shared how dearly the traditional leader loved her with a “passion and devotion that never faded.”
“You never hid your love for me; it was something you showed to the world… Your death is the greatest loss I have ever known. You stood by me ‘through thick and thin’.”
She opts to remember the love of her life as: tall, content, and proud.
The couple met in tertiary in 1971, courted throughout 1972, got engaged in 1973, married in 1974, and in 1976, were blessed with their only child, Dr. Naana Mary Gyimah-Kessie.
