Cedi Holds Steady Against Major Currencies in BoG’s Published Rates

The Ghana cedi maintained relative stability against major trading currencies, according to the Bank of Ghana’s daily exchange rates published for Thursday, July 23, 2026.
The rates, which reflect the average interbank rates used by commercial banks for transactions at the close of business on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, show the US Dollar buying at GH₵11.5942 and selling at GH₵11.6058.
The British Pound Sterling was quoted at a buying rate of GH₵15.5061 and a selling rate of GH₵15.5228, while the Euro was pegged at GH₵13.2304 for buying and GH₵13.2435 for selling.
The Bank of Ghana notes that these interbank rates serve as the benchmark for commercial banks in pricing foreign exchange transactions for customers.
The central bank releases the daily rates to provide transparency and guidance for businesses, importers, exporters, and individuals engaging in foreign exchange transactions.
