WAFCON: Black Queens to Embark on Training Tour

The Ghana national senior female team will be travelling to Senegal on a nine-day tour ahead of the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
During that period, the team will engage in rigorous preparation in April 2025 for the tournament.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is pleased to announce a nine-day training tour in Senegal for the Black Queens, as part of preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).”
As part of the tour, Coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s side will hold two international friendly matches against Senegal’s Teranga Lionesses in Dakar.
This training tour follows a similar one organized by the GFA during the February FIFA window in Morocco.
These training tours are part of the senior women’s national team’s buildup to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 5-26, 2025.
Coach Kim Lars Björkegren will use this opportunity to assess and expand his pool of players ahead of the WAFCON.
