Ashie Quaye Available For Ghana-Morocco Clash Today

Samuel Abbey-Ashie Quaye is expected to feature on the first eleven players of Coach Ibrahim Tanko as Ghana play their second U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group stage match.

This follows the end of his suspension after he secured two yellow cards in the qualification stage of the competition.

As punishment, he faced a match ban which led to his absence in Ghana’s opening match against Congo on Sunday.

“His return is a huge boost to Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side,” a statement by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announcing his availability said.

Ghana will this evening face Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat after their 3:2 win against Congo.

Coach Tanko who was not impressed by his boys’ performance against Congo despite the win is determined for another win against the hosts.

“We have only today to prepare but we will do our best to have a good session today…Both teams won our first matches and so I expect a good match. But we want to win.”
