Asantehene Positions Ghana as Gateway to 1.4bn-person African Market

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has invited Polish investors to look beyond Ghana’s 30 million population and tap into the African Continental Free Trade Area’s 1.4 billion-person market, with Asanteman as a prime destination for enterprise.
Addressing a group at the Museum of King Jan III’s Palace at Wilanów on May 29, 2026, His Majesty said Ghana’s stability and democratic credentials make it a reliable gateway into Africa.
“The African Continental Free Trade Area has opened a new horizon. A company that invests wisely in Ghana does not invest in a country of about 30 million people. It positions itself within a continental package of 1.4 billion people. Ghana is stable. Ghana is democratic. Ghana is a gateway.”
The King of the Asante Kingdom further urged investors to consider Asanteman as he touted it as a land of enterprise, culture, gold, agriculture, education and human energy.
“I invite you to carefully look at our universities, our hospitals, look at our artisans, look at our traders and look at our young people. Look at the central position of Asanteman in Ghana. There is work to be done, and there is room for serious partners,” His Majesty said.
His Majesty also called for partnerships in agro-processing, health systems, manufacturing and cultural exchange.
