Asante Professionals Club to Fund Otumfuo Foundation Annually

The Asante Professionals Club (APC) will support vocational training in the country with GH₵50,000 each year, through the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation (OOTIIF).

This year’s donation was presented in the form of a dummy cheque to the Board Chairman of the Foundation, Nana Prof Oheneba Boachie-Adjei Woahene II during the eighth Akwasidae of the year.

The APC disclosed their intention to donate the amount in support of vocational training for the youth in the kingdom each year.

“In our collaboration with Nana Hiahene, we got to know about the need to support the foundation for scholarship purposes, we have decided to donate towards sponsoring skill training. We will donate GHC50,000 annually,” a spokesperson of the APC said in his address to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Asanteman.

In addition to that, the Club presented an amount of GHC100,000 towards the renovation of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), which is being spearheaded by the King.

“We also heard of the ‘Heal Kath Project’. Individually, the Asante Professional Club has contributed, but after collaboration, the leadership of the group has decided to donate GH100,000 for that purpose.”

The group further expressed their immense appreciation to His Majesty for designating Oheneba Hiahene to assist them in their recent symposium.

“We are professionals from the Kingdom, and we are driven to assist in developing the Asante Kingdom. During our last Akwasidae, we came to seek the blessings of our Lord at our symposium on Asante Architecture and Spatial Planning. His Majesty directed Nana Hiahene to assist us. After that, we presented documents on our work to the Minister for Works and Housing, Hon Francis Asenso-Boakye. We are here to show our appreciation to the King.”

Speaking on behalf of Otumfuo, the Hiahene commended the group and encouraged them to continue their good work in the Kingdom.

The presentations took place on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
