Ahenkro Gets Ultra-Modern Market Complex

A sod-cutting ceremony has taken place in Ahenkro, in the Afigya Kwabre District in the Ashanti Region, for the construction of an ultra-modern market complex.

The three-storey building, when completed, will be equipped with lockable stores, stalls, toilet facilities, washrooms, a fire station, and a lorry terminal, among others. It aims to enhance business opportunities in the Afigya Kwabere North district.

The ceremony, held on June 19, 2023, was attended by local chiefs, government officials, and members of the community.

According to Nana Ahenkro Sei-Poku IV, the completion of the market complex fulfills his desires and signifies a milestone in his reign as chief, as he was urged by Asantehene to focus on community development. He also highlighted other ongoing projects, including hospitals, schools, and portable water systems, aimed at improving the economic livelihoods of the people.

“I am satisfied with the project because it aligns with the vision of community development. There are other  ongoing projects, including hospitals, schools, and portable water systems, aimed at improving the economic livelihoods of the people.”
