Asantehemaa Dɔte Yie: List of Businesses That Can Open During The Day In Kumasi on Thursday

Manhyia Palace has issued a list of businesses that can go about their activities in Kumasi on Thursday when Asanteman observes the final burial rites for its late Queen, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The list includes Banks, Pharmaceutical Stores, Fuel Stations, Restaurants and Transport Service Providers.
These are said to be “exempted from any restriction of movement during the day.”
Affirming the restriction on movement during the day and night of Thursday, the Palace emphasised that schools and markets are to be closed during the day.
Meanwhile, in the night, essential service providers such as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the Ghana Ambulance Service and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) are excluded from any restriction of movement.
They “are allowed to perform their duties without any hindrance on the night of Thursday, September 18, 2025.”
This was announced by the Acting Chief of Staff of the Palace, Nana Effah Appenteng in a statement issued on September 15, 2025.
The ban was instituted as part of the burial rites of the late Queen of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
