British, Korean, and Spanish Paralympic Associations Congratulate Samson Deen on Reelection

At least three Paralympic Associations have extended congratulatory messages to Samson Deen on his reelection as the President of the African Paralympic Committee.
Deen, who first took office in 2021, secured an overwhelming 95% of the votes, extending his tenure as head of the continental body until 2029.
In a statement, Fernando Riaño, the Spanish Paralympic Committee President, described Deen’s continued leadership and unwavering commitment to the development of the Paralympic Movement in Africa as “truly inspiring.”
He affirmed Spain’s commitment to building bridges between Europe and Africa.
“As outlined in our manifesto, we will advocate for the interests of African nations, reflecting our strong commitment to the Global South. For this, we hope to count on your support on November 20 and look forward to continued collaboration in the future.”
For its part, the Korean Association expressed its confidence in Deen.
“Under your continued guidance, I am confident that the African Paralympic Movement will achieve even greater progress in promoting inclusion, athlete development, and the spirit of the Paralympic values. I look forward to seeing the African region grow stronger and more vibrant under your visionary leadership.”
The British Paralympic Association, in its statement, hailed his insight and experience and its significance to the future opportunities.
“Your experience and insight will be important as we explore the opportunities ahead, and we are confident that together we can help the region move forward in an impactful way.”
