3 Dead, 15 Injured in Kumasi-Accra Highway Crash

Three persons have been confirmed dead and 15 others injured following a serious road traffic accident at Juaso Three-Lane, near NEXT BON Gas along the Kumasi-Accra Highway on Sunday morning.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the incident occurred at approximately 09:39 HRS on July 13, 2026, and prompted a swift response from rescue crews.
According to GNFS, the collision involved a Shackman F3000 truck with registration number GN9673-25, driven by Mr Stephen Amankwah and loaded with clinker, and a Dongfeng Van with registration GM4002-26, driven by Mr Nyame Ebenezer.
Eighteen persons were involved.
Two males and one female were reported dead at the scene.
A joint crew from the Konongo-Odumase Fire Station and Juaso Fire Station rescued the three deceased and handed them over to the Juaso Police.
GNFS said the two drivers and the remaining 13 injured persons were pulled out by members of the public before the fire crew arrived. They were transported to Juaso Government Hospital for urgent treatment.
Police have commenced investigations into the cause of the crash.
