120 Jobs Secured for Ghanaians Evacuated from South Africa

At least 120 job opportunities have been secured for Ghanaians evacuated from South Africa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.
The Ministry said the jobs were pledged by patriotic Ghanaian CEOs and entrepreneurs responding to its call for support.
The initiative is being coordinated by the Delivery Unit of the Ministry, led by Ambassador Alexander Grant Ntrakwa.
“We invite Ghanaian CEOs and Entrepreneurs desirous of employing Ghanaians returning from South Africa to contact the Delivery Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the Ministry stated in a notice Monday.
Business owners interested in offering employment have been directed to reach the unit on 066 1108 000.
The jobs drive is part of the government’s response to escalating xenophobic attacks in South Africa that have led to injuries, looting, and the closure of businesses owned by Africans.
Evacuated Ghanaians are being supported to reintegrate into the local economy.
“Be part of this noble project. We value and cherish all our citizens,” the Ministry added.
The first batch of 300 Ghanaians returned last week.
Meanwhile, Ghana has issued a travel advisory warning citizens against non-essential travel to South Africa.
