MFA Invites CEOs to Support JOBS INITIATIVE For South African Evacuees

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is calling on CEOs and entrepreneurs to help create employment opportunities for returnees from South Africa following the launch of a jobs initiative.
In a notice issued Monday, the Ministry said the Delivery Unit, led by Ambassador Alexander Grant Ntrakwa, is coordinating the effort.
Business owners interested in employing returning Ghanaians are to contact the unit on 066 1108 000.
“We invite Ghanaian CEOs and Entrepreneurs desirous of employing Ghanaians returning from South Africa to contact the Delivery Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the statement read.
The Ministry disclosed that patriotic Ghanaian business owners have already pledged 120 job opportunities.
It urged more CEOs to join the project to support the reintegration of citizens affected by the recent xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
“Be part of this noble project. We value and cherish all our citizens,” the Ministry added.
The jobs drive is part of the government’s broader response to the violence targeting Africans in South Africa, which has resulted in injuries, looting and the closure of businesses.
The first batch of 300 Ghanaians returned last week.
Meanwhile, Ghana has issued a travel advisory warning citizens against non-essential travel to South Africa.
