1 Arrested Over Wa Abduction, Murder

The police in the Upper West region have arrested one person in connection with the murder of Seidu Baga, a private security man who went missing last week.

The suspect, Kankani Adongo, was arrested on Monday at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa.

He was reportedly arrested through the combined effort of the police and the community search party.

The suspect is in custody and will be arraigned before a court to face justice, the police said in a statement.

Seidu Baga, a private security man in the community was reported missing on Friday, September 16, 2022.

His corpse was later found in a shallow grave on Sunday.

This is not the first time a person has gone missing and has been later found dead in the Wa municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Wa, Tahiru Issahaku Moomin says seven private security men have been abducted and murdered in the Assembly within the space of one year.

No arrest has been effected with regard to the previous cases.
