You Aren’t There For Your Parochial Interest; Amoakohene to MMDCES

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, charged confirmed Chief Executives to exhibit the highest standard of decorum and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Swearing in six Municipal and District Executives on Tuesday, he reminded them that they had been appointed to the positions for the interest of Ghanaians.
He therefore urged them to eschew selfishness and the pursuit of their parochial interests.
“You are there to represent His Excellency the President, to implement his policies and vision for the people of Ghana. Serve in all honesty and humility. Remember the poor who go through the hustle to pay taxes for which reason you have been appointed to make sure it is used judiciously for the benefit of these people and not for parochial or selfish gains.”
He stated that the unanimous endorsement by some assemblies reflected their confidence in the appointees and therefore encouraged them to live up to expectations.
“Some of you were unanimously endorsed. The people had absolute confidence in you. They’ve given you a clean sheet to write your story. We expect that weeks and months into your various administrations, that same endorsement will reflect as you deliver your mandate as Chief Executives for your respective Districts and Municipalities.”
The Minister also announced a series of workshops and training sessions to prepare the appointees for the task ahead.
He also announced that a grand inaugural session will be held once the outstanding nominations are approved.
