What Asantehene Said About Kofi Kinaata
Mr Opoku Ware, the Head of Security at Manhyia Palace has disclosed that the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, is a huge fan of Kofi Kinaata’s music.
During an interview on Opemsuo Radio’s Oseikrom Kwanso with Mac de President, Opoku could not contain his excitement as he shared the King’s admiration for the artiste.
According to him, Asantehene often listens to Kofi Kinaata’s songs and was so impressed that he inquired about the artiste’s identity.
“I know this is a secret, but… I am Otumfuo’s bodyguard and accompany him everywhere. He listens to your songs and asked me who sang them. We mentioned your name, Kofi Kinaata, and he asked where you’re from. We said Takoradi, and he exclaimed, ‘Ah, is he old or young?’ We replied, ‘He’s as young as us.’ And he said, ‘This man speaks wisdom oo.'”
He continued, “We told him we’re all fans of Kofi Kinaata and follow his music. The King praised Kofi Kinaata’s music, saying it’s good music.”
Kofi Kinaata, who was at the studio at the time, beamed with joy upon hearing the news. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the King for his support and enthusiasm for his music.
The artiste has won several awards, including the Best Reggae/Dancehall Song of the year for “Effiakuma Love” at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
His music is known for its storytelling, social commentary, and inspirational themes, earning him a loyal fan base and critical acclaim.
