No Other Funeral Will Be Held After State Funeral- Family of Nana Konadu Agyeman

The family of the late former First Lady of Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, says there will be no other funeral other than the planned state funeral.

Addressing the press on November 18, 2025, Oheneba Akwasi Abayie, the Otumfuo Akomforehene, noted that the state funeral will be the final process for her transition.

“We will end everything with the state funeral. We won’t hold any other funeral, neither in her hometown nor at her residence.”

In addition, he stated that the family had not designated any clothes for the funeral, adding that the dress code is black.

“We have not accepted any customised clothes. Anything black will go.”

The funeral will take place on November 28 at Independence Square in Accra.
“The event will start at 6 am and Nana will be laid in repose for sympathisers to pay their last respects while a burial service and all requisite rites will be performed.”

The former First Lady will then be buried privately.

Oheneba, while expressing gratitude to Ghanaians for the show of solidarity since the incident, extended an invitation to all for the funeral rites.

“The funeral is a state funeral. Everyone is invited.”

He also encouraged attendees to comply with security protocols to avert any unforeseen circumstances.
