Mahama Cares to Train 100 Specialist Nurses

The Ghana Medical Care Trust Fund, known as Mahama Cares, has initiated talks with the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives to train specialist nurses.
As one of its core pillars, the Fund will, beginning in April, offer a four-year training to these nurses in critical areas, including oncology, cardiology, nephrology, neurology, endocrinology, and critical care.
According to the Fund, the initiative forms part of the broader strategy to confront the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) head-on, in line with the national vision championed by President Mahama.
“As we finance specialised NCD care for Ghanaians, we are equally committed to ensuring that the professionals delivering this care are well-trained, and fully supported to perform at the highest standards,” it’s said.
Meanwhile, it served its expectation for an impactful partnership with the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives.
The Rector for the College, Dr Mrs. Gloria Achempim-Ansong, for her part, pledged their full support to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund to help make this objective a reality.
