2023 AFCON: All Qualifying Countries Alongside Ghana

Twenty-three countries together with Ghana have qualified for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament next year.

CAF will be holding the group stage draw to determine the opening clashes later.

Among the qualifiers are hosts Cote D’Ivoire, defending champions Senegal and 2022 World Cup semi-finalists Morocco.

Also are Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire (Hosts), DR Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zambia.

There was no debutants in the tournament this time around.

With their qualification this year, Egypt extended their record number of AFCON appearances to 26 while Mozambique and Zambia returned after six and three years of absence respectively.

Fourteen of the qualified nations including Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, South Africa, Senegal, Egypt, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde and Mali booked their tickets for the tournament in June.

The rest booked theirs during the September international break.

The 2023 AFCON will be hosted in Ivory Coast beginning in January 2024.
