GRNMA Warns Govt Over Silence On Outstanding Allowances

The leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has issued a warning to the government following its silence on their negotiated Book and Research Allowance and the current rate of Fuel Allowance.

According to the group, there is no clear directive from the Ministry of Finance to the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) to pay these allowances to those who qualify for this September.

“In view of this, the leadership of the Association has called on the employer to do the needful to avert any future agitations.”

It served its expectation for payment of the approved rate of Fuel Allowance for its senior colleagues who still receive the old rate.

“We also expect that those who are entitled to receive the Book and Research Allowance per the date already submitted to the MoF will be paid once all education institutions in the country are being paid.”

Meanwhile, it confirmed that provision has been made to pay the Uniform Allowance to all nurses and midwives in the country in September 2025.
