School Placement For 2025 BECE Candidates Set For Mid-September

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has set September 17 for the Computerised School Placement for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates.

This will follow an online choice confirmation by candidates from August 27 to September 1.

At a presser on August 27, the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Professor Ernest Davis, said the results of the placement will be available online for the attention of all and is committed to ensuring a smooth and transparent exercise.

He assured stakeholders of a fair and transparent system, adding that placement will be merit-based, as he implored parents to report any miscreants who will extort money from them with the promise to secure placements for their wards.

Candidates will report to their respective Senior High Schools on October 18, 2025.

It comes after the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) released the provisional results for the exam.

It said 603,328 candidates, comprising 297,250 males and 306,078 females from 20,395 participating schools, entered for the school examination.

This included 72 candidates with visual impairment, 239 with hearing impairment and 239 with other test accommodation needs.

The examination was conducted at 2,237 centres across the country. Out of the total number, 2,526 candidates were absent.
