Suspect In Sokoban Murder Stole From Former Boss

Alister John, the suspect at the center of the murder of his female boss at Apaaso near Sokoban Ampabame in the Ashanti Region stole from his former boss who operated a hotel in Kumasi, a court has found.

He was already standing trial at the Asokwa Circuit Court for two counts of stealing before being identified as a suspect in the fresh case.

The police say he stole his employee’s phone in August 2022 and withdrew an amount of GHC167,660 from her bank account using her mobile app.

He pleaded guilty to all the counts, the police said in an interview with the media at the court on Monday, October 2, 2023.

The court will deliver judgment on his theft case on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Alister, 22, and one other were arrested on September 14, 2023, for the murder of owner of the house where he worked as a house help.

The two bolted with the deceased’s vehicle with registration Number GS 307-21 after allegedly committing the crime and subsequently sold it.

The lifeless body of the victim, Princess Afia Ahenkan, 35, was found in her garage at her residence necessitating a “targeted intelligence-led operation” for the suspects by the police.
