Asantehene to Attend Seychelles President-elect Inauguration

The King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will next week be in Seychelles for the inauguration of His Excellency Patrick Herminie, President-Elect of the Republic of Seychelles.

It comes after His Majesty accepted an invitation to the event slated to take place on October 26, 2025, in Victoria.

This was confirmed in a statement by the Consulate of Seychelles in Ghana on October 16, 2025.

His Majesty will travel to Seychelles with a delegation from the Manhyia Palace to honour this significant national occasion.

“The invitation extended by President-Elect Herminie reflects the warm and enduring friendship between Asanteman and the Republic of Seychelles, a relationship strengthened during the historic visit of  His Excellency President  Wavel Ramkalawan and the First Lady to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, Ghana, in 2024.”

“This visit by the Asantehene further highlights the growing collaboration between Ghana and Seychelles in the areas of culture, heritage diplomacy, and mutual development cooperation.”

Asante and Seychelles share deep cultural and diplomatic ties.

Meanwhile, the Consulate said the inaugural event marks the beginning of a new chapter in Seychelles’ democratic and political journey.
