Former NSS Deputy Director Returns to Ghana For NIB Probe

Former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority, Gifty Oware-Mensah, has returned home after weeks outside the country.
She returns in the face of alleged payroll fraud costing the nation a staggering GHȼ50 million each month.
The Ghana Football Association ExCo member is wanted by the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) for investigation over the scandal.
She is said to have left the country in December on the back of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s defeat in the Presidential election.
Amid growing concerns about the abandonment of her role at the FA when the Black Queens were on a trip in Morocco for some friendlies, it turned out that she was fulfilling her duties with the senior women’s national team.
Mrs Oware-Mensah is expected to hand herself over to the NIB for questioning in the said investigations.
The Bureau has in the past days effected arrest and questioning of a number of former government officials under the erstwhile NPP government.
