Bofoakwa Tano Sack Coach Frimpong Manso

Bofoakwa Tano have terminated the contract of their head coach, Stephen Frimpong Manso and assistant coach, Isaac Kofi Sarfo.

According to the club, the termination of the contracts was on mutual grounds and for the right reason.

“Bofoakwa Tano Football Club has by mutual agreement, parted ways with First team Head Coach, Mr. Stephen Frimpong Manso and Assistant Coach, Mr. Isaac Kofi Sarfo. This decision was made in the utmost interest of the club,” the management of the Sunyani-based club announced on Thursday in a press statement.

It added, “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both coaches for their valuable contributions and dedication to our club. We wish them the very best in their future endeavours.”

The promoted club appointed Coach Frimpong Manso as head coach in July calling it an “exciting new chapter” and joying over his “impressive track record and a wealth of experience on and off the Field.”

Under his wings, Tano short-lived the glory of leading the league and running unbeaten until match week eight when they were pipped 4-2 by Aduana FC.

Currently, they are 6th on the league log with 16 points after 11 games holding just three wins and seven draws.

Their last game against Nsoatreman FC at the Coronation Park ended in a goalless draw and trouble as fans allegedly pounced on the head coach and players of Nsoatreman and beat them to a pulp.

Coach Frimpong is a former player of now Division Two club Cornerstones and Premier League side Asante Kotoko. He is said to have earned 14 caps for the Ghana national team.

In 2017, he assisted the interim coach Godwin Ablordey in the management of Asante Kotoko. Later in March 2019, he became the manager of Nkoranza Warriors.

By December 2019, he moved to Techiman Eleven Wonders but later returned in February 2020 to Nkoranza Warriors.
