God Orchestrated Kutu Acheampong’s Ousting- Archbishop Duncan William

The founder and leader of Action Chapel, Archbishop Nicolas Duncan Williams, has recounted how God orchestrated the ousting from power of Ghanaian military head of state, Ignatius Kutu Acheampong.
The military officer was the military head of state of Ghana from 13th January, 1972 to 5th July, 1978, when he was deposed in a palace coup and was killed in a firing squad.
Decades after the incident, the Archbishop, has made some spiritual disclosures about the event.
According to him, a prophecy about the incident was delivered weeks before the coup.
Speaking at the President’s fellowship with clergymen on February 28, he said this was during a church service he joined as a young preacher.
“At that time there was no charismatic church in the country and on Saturdays, I would go a prayer and a revival meeting. I will bring students from all over the city to the Airport Residential Area. I remember one time I went to church and a young prophet who is still alive- I’m still in touch with him- stood up and spoke in some strange language…Then {using the local dialect} he said, ‘I am God. Tell Kutu Acheampong that Ghana is mine. I the Lord of Host, have deposed him’. I was like wow does the church have that kind of power?”
He said he tried to relay the message to the leader to no avail.
“In a week, there was a Palace coup and he was removed.”
The Archbishop, referencing Daniel 4:17, said the vision enlightened him about God’s role in establishing leaders.
“Then came to my understanding Daniel 4:17 when the bible said that all the living may know that the Most High rules in the affairs of men. That this is the decree of the watchers of the holy ones, the angels and intercessors of our countries, communities and families. The Most High rules in the affairs of men and gives the kingdoms of men to whomsoever he chooses.”
He used the occasion to commend the President for placing God where He deserves in his administration.
“Calling this gathering today to register gratitude to God and to say thank you for all those who sought God, prayed and interceded on your behalf for such overwhelming victory, I want to thank you for not forgetting. This is one of the weakness of men especially those who come into success, into greatness. Most times, there is the tendency to forget from whence you have come from.”
