General Overseer of Assemblies of God Church Appointed GIS Council Head

The Overseer of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Steven H. Wengam, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Governing Council.
The 11-member Council was inaugurated on Thursday by the Minister for Interior, Muntaka Mubarak.
In his speech, the Minister urged the Council to collaborate closely with the Service’s leadership to provide strategic direction and enhance its responsiveness to evolving global immigration dynamics.
Present at the inauguration were the Deputy Minister, Deputies to the Comptroller-General and other Directors of the Ministry.
Profile of Rev Wengam
Rev. Wengam is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God in Ghana and hails from Paknatik in the Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri district in the northern region of Ghana.
He holds a Diploma in Theology from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, North East campus, Kumbungu; BSc.Admin (Marketing option) from the University of Ghana; a certificate in Corporate Governance from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA); a Master of Theology Degree from the International Theological Seminary, U.S.A.; and a Diploma in Christian Clinical Counselling from same.
He served as a member of the Fifth Prisons Council from 2009-2013 as well as a member of the Citi Fm Foundation Board.
