Bagbin Releases A-Plus, Mustapha Yussif to NIB for “Interaction”

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Babgin, has agreed to release two Members of Parliament to the National Investigation Bureau (NIB).

It followed a request for the release of Mustapha Yussif, the Member of Parliament for Yagaba Kubori Constituency, and Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency by the Bureau on March 25, 2025.

In response to the request, the Speaker through the Clerk of Parliament cited Articles 117 and 118 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic and agreed to the request.

The lawmakers have been directed to make themselves available for the “preliminary interaction with the officials of the NIB in Parliament”.

 

The meeting will take place on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 10.00 am at the Sir. Emmanuel Charles Quist Conference Room at the Office of the Speaker, the letter specified.

It added that, “The Hon. Members will be requested to have their lawyers present at the interaction. Kindly have your officials contact the Legal Services Office for assistance on arrival for the meeting.”
