Church Resources Are For God’s Work Not Personal Gain- Asantehene

Throwing light on his decision to freely renew the lease of the Church of Pentecost McKeown Temple, Otumfuo asserted that church resources are meant for God’s work.
As such, His Majesty believes no one has to take advantage at the least opportunity for personal gains.
“When Mponponsuohene led you to tell me about the lease expiration some time ago, I chastised him for not telling me earlier about the issue. He knew but he didn’t tell me. Had I known, I wouldn’t have allowed you to come all the way here in the first place. I would have given the directive for the issue to be dealt with. Church resources aren’t for personal gains but the work of God. We did what we did as our contribution to the work of God and so all the appreciation goes to God.”
Otumfuo further gave indications of his hope of worshipping with the entire congregation at the temple once the old building is pulled down and reconstructed.
“I look forward to worshipping with you in the temple once completed and I hope I will be able to personally come for the inauguration.”
Contribution
The Monarch also acknowledged the contribution of the church especially in the inculcation of good morals in the youth.
“The Church has contributed to human and national development. It has down well in instilling the fear of God in people. Keep that up. We need that now more than ever for the youth.”
Prayer
The King further urged the church to constantly mention him in its prayers.
“We are seated here because God put us here. We wouldn’t be here without the hand of God. Constantly remember me in your prayers so that I get the strength and wisdom to rule.”
Appreciation
A delegation from the Church located at Asokwa in the Ashanti Region led by the Asokwa Area Head of the Church, Apostle Peter Kofi Dzemekey was at the Manhyia Palace on February 28, 2025, to express gratitude to the King for his kind gesture.
