Police Hunt Robbers After Ablekuma Bullion Van Shootings

The Ghana Police Service says it is on a manhunt for four robbers who attacked a Bullion Van at Ablekuma Fanmilk in the Greater Accra region on Thursday.

The robbers, per a CCTV footage, stormed a filling station where the bullion van was, on two motorbikes and immediately launched an attack.

It happened around 1 pm on June 22, 2023.

One of the robbers was captured jumping off one of the motorbikes and moving straight to the police escort’s side. He opened the door to the car and shot the police escort multiple times.

They then exited the venue on the motorbikes.

The police office died later according to reports.

In a statement, the police said, “The Police are on a manhunt to arrest a gang of four robbers who attacked a bullion van at Ablekuma Fanmilk, a suburb of Accra and shot the Police escort who has unfortunately passed on.”

 

Extending a condolence message to the family of the deceased, the service assured the robbers will be nabbed.

“Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of our deceased colleague in particular and all personnel of the Police Service in general.

 

“We wish to assure the public that we will surely get the robbers arrested to face justice.”
