Overjoyed Van Vicker Praises Mahama For Cedi Performance
Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has hailed President John Dramani Mahama for the current performance of the cedi against major trading currencies on the trade market.
The overjoyed celebrity took to Facebook on Wednesday to react to the currency’s faring.
He described it as “remarkable” while expressing optimism about its sustainability as he recalled how a few months ago, the cedi was trading around GHc17.
“Mr. President, I must congratulate you on the strengthening of the Ghana cedis on the World market, ayekoo… Your Excellency JM, if you can take us back to 2007, heerrrh like e go be ‘kerker’.”
He also addressed the displeasure among Ghanaians living abroad over the gains of the cedi, calling their attitude “narcissistic”.
“Regrettably some Ghanaians living abroad are not enthused because the dollar has dropped against the cedis. How narcissistic can one be?”
Van was however quick to add that his statement was not political but an “acknowledgement of a good job done so far”.
“Call a spade a spade. Give credit to whom credit is due,” he affirmed.
