Opemsuo Radio At 2: Opemsuo Radio Moves Out
In line with the second anniversary of Opemsuo radio, a subsidiary of the Ashanti Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), the media company of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, an outdoor program is being held inside the Racecourse market, Kumasi.
All programmes of the radio station will come to listeners live from the Nana Konadu Yiadom III Roundabout at the Kumasi Racecourse.
The Nkwantananso Show, Opemsuo radio’s morning show which is hosted by award-winning George Opoku Mensah Agudey, will have only two of its regular panel members plus three of the market traders with the discussion centring on issues of the market.
The M’asem Show hosted by Mama Pat will hear a captivating story from two of the market folks
Next on the list of shows for today’s special program will be the Adwadifuo news, a news bulletin which will be read from 12 pm to 12: 30 p.m by three of the market folks.
From 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm is the cultural segment of the programme. The market women will take listeners and virtual viewers through the preparation of local meals including fufu and ‘Abunabunu’ (taro leaves) soup, ‘Nuhuu’, ‘Aprapransa’, Diehuo (Tuozaafi), and ‘Akaw’ with ‘ahurigya’.
At 2 pm is a spelling bee for the traders dubbed “Adwadifuo spelling competition”.
Climaxing the event for the day in the market will be the final edition of the Opemsuo radio Drive Time Twi Spelling Bee from 3 pm to 5 pm.
The second-anniversary ceremony of Opemsuo radio began with a health walk and medical screening on May 11, 2022.
Opemsuo radio is located at the Manhyia Palace and has the slogan “Yeresom”, to wit, “We Serve”.
