NPP Distances Itself From Abronye’s Comment Against Archbishop Duncan-Williams

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has distanced itself from a comment against the leader of the Action Chapel, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams by the Bono Regional Chairman of the Party, Kwame Baffoe, known as Abronye DC.
In a statement, the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the party’s ideology holds religious leadership in high regard.
It also acknowledged the immense contributions of Archbishop Duncan-Williams and the broader religious community to national development, peace, and moral guidance.
“The party unequivocally distances itself from those comments and emphasises that they do not reflect the party’s values, beliefs, or official position.”
It therefore implored the Christian community to treat Abronye’s personal views entirely as his own and not attributable to the New Patriotic Party.
“While the NPP, as a democratic and inclusive political tradition, upholds the freedom of expression of its members, we also expect such freedom to be exercised with utmost responsibility, respect, and decorum, especially when addressing revered leaders of faith whose influence transcends partisan boundaries.”
It noted that the NPP was committed to fostering respectful engagement across all sectors of Ghanaian society and will continue to work in partnership with religious institutions for the collective advancement of our country.
