NDC Calls For Citizen-welfare Centred Policies

Among the demands of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as Ghana clocks 67 years today are policies that prioritize the welfare of citizens as well as and promotion of inclusive growth and development.

In its message to mark the Independence Day Celebration, the country’s largest opposition party, mulled over the economic challenges the country faces and called for variation in government policies.

“Over the past seven years under the NPP government, Ghana has faced an economic nightmare punctuated by strangulating debts, erosion of disposable income, high levels of unemployment, poverty, inequality, and corruption.

“To add insult to injury, the leadership has refused to take accountability and continues to deflect every responsibility. These issues threaten to erode the very fabric of our society and impede the realization of our collective dreams and aspirations,” Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the NDC said.

He reiterated the party’s commitment to addressing the challenges and championing the cause of all Ghanaians as he promised jobs, economic growth, and improvement of the standard of living of the ordinary citizens.

“We advocate for policies that prioritize the welfare of our citizens and promote inclusive growth and development. Looking ahead, we are confident that under the leadership of HE John Mahama, the next NDC government will be committed to building the Ghana envisioned by our forefathers – a nation of prosperity, equality, and opportunity for all.”
