NACOC K9 Unit Conducts Anti-Narcotics Sweep at Tamale Hajj Village

The Narcotics Control Commission’s K9 Unit has carried out a series of anti-narcotics operations at the Tamale Airport as part of security arrangements for the Hajj pilgrimage.
The exercise, conducted at the Tamale Hajj Village, forms part of the Commission’s mandate to support travel procedures at the country’s entry and exit points, NACOC said.
The operations aimed to detect narcotics and contraband items prohibited under established travel regulations.
The K9 team conducted thorough searches of luggage belonging to individuals processed to embark on the Hajj pilgrimage.
No narcotic-related items were found during the operations.
In total, the team screened 450 bags and 430 pilgrims.
NACOC said it remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of Ghanaians.
